Brazilian Acai Bowl Recipe: the Healthy version

The original Brazilian Acai Bowl isn’t particularly healthy, but taste soooo good! Since I always have the Western Version at Healthy Hotspots like these all around the world. It seemed only fitting to create a healthy version of this delicious Brazilian Berry Bowl.

Açaí na tigela (“Açaí in a bowl”) is a typical Brazilian dish made of mashed açaí berries. It’s served as a smoothie in a bowl or glass, and is commonly topped with granola and banana, and then mixed with other fruits and guaraná syrup. Like I said, not particularly healthy. It’s a huge sugar bomb! Buuuuuttttt, the Acai berry is known for it’s high antioxidant powers and if you use the right ingredients, it can be a very healthy options for Breakfast! 🙂

Brazilian Acai Bowl

1. Cut a ripe banana into small pieces and leave it in the freezer overnight.

2. Put the frozen banana pieces into a blender in the morning.

3. Add the Acai Powder, nut butter, almond milk, Medjool date and one handful of Blueberries.

4. Blend!

5. Put it into a bowl and add toppings to your preference. I love to add sour fruits, as the Acai Bowl itself is quite sweet.

6. Enjoy!
